New Members "Comment Only" Gallery
by Peter Myers on Apr.02, 2009, under General
We have just launched the new members comment gallery. The idea behind this gallery is to allow members to post their own images for comment from fellow members and hopefully learn from these comments.
In order for the gallery to be a success please make sure you not only post your own images, but also comment on other members images.
We are still refining the finer details of the system, but for the month of April the following guidlines will get you started…
Firstly, the URL of the gallery is as follows:
http://waverleycc.smugmug.com/WCC%20Comment%20Gallery
Simply click on this link and bookmark (add to favourites).
You will see that this is a protected gallery. You will need a password to access the gallery. For the month of April only the password is “aprilcomment” (without the quotation marks!)
This password will get you into the gallery. You can now browse the images, post comments and give each image a 5 star rating if you wish. To make a comment simply click on the “Add Comment” button. You will be asked to provide your name and email address etc in order to post your comment, or if you have a facebook account you can use the easy “facebook connect” button (as I did) to login to the comments section.
In order to post images for the month of April only, you will need to e mail the images to the EDI comp steward at the usual comp@waverleycameraclub.org address. For the month of April, until we get this gallery more streamlined can I suggest that you limit the number of postings to 4 per month.
When you send your images for posting to the gallery please make sure that your e mail is titled “Comment Gallery Images”. Also please include a brief text note which I can copy and paste to the gallery, including your name, whatever technical details you want to provide, and a very brief note about the image.
Finally, can I suggest that images posted for comment should not be images from your photo archive, but images taken within the past 3 months.
Good Luck!
Waverley Camera Club is a member’s photographic club based in Mount Waverley.
