Waverley Camera Club

We are a very active club. Meetings are held on every Tuesday of the month.

On the first Tuesday of each month we have our monthly competition judging night. We have monthly competitions for “print” entries and “EDI” (Electronic Digital Images) for both A grade and B grade members. New members are usually admitted as B grade members. Each month, a judge from outside the club is invited to view and judge our images. Points are awarded by the judge based on the standard image evaluation standards. New members and visitors in particular are invited to come early to ask questions or just to say hello!

Our “First Tuesday” club nights are great fun and very informative. The session starts at 7.45pm. For the year 2010 all our competition judging nights will be held not at Wadham House, but in the “Craft Room” at Mount Waverley community centre, which is directly opposite Wadham House. Members are asked to PLEASE help out on these evenings by arriving at 7.15pm and helping move the tables and chairs etc and set the craft room up for our meeting.

The second Tuesday of each month sees our A/V (Audio Visual) special interest group meeting. This group meeting is open to all club members wanting to learn about A/V creation and expand their knowledge of A/V creation. The session starts at 7.45pm

The third Tuesday of each month sees our regular “Workshop” evening. Workshop topics vary from month to month and range from digital image tuition, to portrait shooting sessions, and outdoor events. These sessions start at 7.45pm. Again, new members and visitors in particular are invited to come early to ask questions or just to say hello!

The fourth Tuesday of each month is reserved for our “Beginners” special interest group. All B grade club members and new members are invited to attend these sessions. There is no definition of what comprises a “beginner”, so just come along and see if these sessions work for you. Once again, these sessionms start at 7.45pm.

If there is a 5th Tuesday in the month, these are usually reserved for committee meetings.

In addition, the fourth Wednesday of each month hosts our monthly “Flash & Portrait” special interest group. This meeting is held at Wadham House and starts at 7.45pm.
