EDI images of the month
The End of Year evening went really well with a great attendance and a fantastic judge, Randal Armstrong from the AIPP. Randal entertained us with his images and stories of how and when they were taken as well as some more humourous comments about some of the images. Also he shared his passion for his coffee table book on old signs and their part in history. Randal managed a 5 minute break whilst the President, Pete announced the winners for A & B Grade Print & EDI aggregate scores and awarded the trophies accordingly as follows:
A Grade Print – John Hadfield
A Grade EDI – Dave Sumner
B Grade Print – Anne DiCarlo
B Grade EDI – Anne DiCarlo & Andy Armitage
Promoted to A Grade for 2011

Well done guys and thanks for your efforts in 2010.

Thank you to all that came to support the evening and especially all that took part. Thanks to Peter Myers and the AIPP for the books and to the judge Randal Armstrong. Also a big special thank you to the outgoing 2010 committee who without a doubt have done a great job and welcome to the new 2011 committee. I would like to also take this opportunity to wish all of you who won’t be attending the Xmas dinner, a merry Xmas and a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
Thanks for all of your support throughout 2010.
If you are not coming to the outing this Sunday make sure you come along on Tuesday night as the year is rapidly winding down.
This coming Tuesday we will have the best of the best on display and professional photographer Randal Armstrong as our guest for the evening. We will also have the much talked about and highly anticipated President’s Trophy, there’s still time to get your entries in so if you haven’t done so yet get cracking. The President’s trophy is a bit of fun where your goal is to make Pete smile.
Three EDI entries on the topic “Hitchcock movie titles” were due by midnight on 30 November.
***Important***
As always we ask that you bring your partners/loved ones and a small plate of food.
See you all on Tuesday
Pete
A reminder about the end of year competitions:
Up to three entries in each section. The entry must have been entered in one of the WCC 2010 monthly competitions and in the same format. A print must have been previously entered as a print, and an EDI must have been previously entered as an EDI. An EDI cannot be printed and entered as a print, or vice versa.
Printed entries are to be submitted by the November judging night (Cup Day). EDI entries can either be submitted again (with 12 as the month) or email through the name and month of when it was entered previously. Don’t forget to also send through or indicate the EDI versions of your prints.
The President’s trophy is a bit of fun where your goal is to make Pete smile. Three EDI entries on the topic “Hitchcock movie titles” are due by midnight on 30 November. Send them through to the competition email address, but name them as PT1(or 2 or 3)-XX(your member number)-Title. eg PT2-14-Dial M for Psycho
The club has again entered the annual black and white interclub competition run by the Knox Photographic Society. The judging night is this Wednesday at the Boronia West Primary School, starting at 8PM followed by supper.
Unfortunately this clashes with our portrait and flash photography group, but if you are not going along to that, please come along to the judging night to represent the club, and possibly learn a thing or two from the judge’s comments.
The judging of the Pakenham National is this Saturday. We are still waiting to hear if observers are permitted or not. If they are, details will be posted in the next day or so. Let Pete know if you are interested.
Finally, this Sunday is the first of August which means it is also time for our monthly Sunday outing. As the exhibition for the VIGEX 2010 Salon also opens on that day we have decided to head down to Geelong for the exhibition (at the Geelong Art Gallery, Little Malop Street, Geelong). We will meet at the gallery at 11am, have lunch somewhere around 1pm, then a photo shoot somewhere after lunch.
