AGM minutes and notification of new committee

Little did I know when I joined the Waverley Camera Club in early 2009 – as a very B grade photographer – that in 2017 I would end up as President, the outcome of this years AGM. Paul will be a very hard act to follow, so I’m looking forward to the continuing support of members and a very strong committee to keep the club a great place for us to share our love of photography.

The new committee is as follows:

  • President: Vicki Moritz
  • Vice President: Lenore Pedrina
  • Treasurer: Alan Bennett
  • Secretary: Bob Thomas
  • Committee members: Rosie Hughes, Ross Eddington, Stephen Edmonds, Jan Knight, Dave Sumner, Fred Seeber, Geoff Shaw, Jill Shaw

We welcome new members Bob, Jill and Geoff and thank Paul, Donna and Marie Shaw for their invaluable assistance on the 2016/2017 committee

Richard Pilcher gave us a very informative overview of his African photography tour which is now available on line.

I look forward to the coming year – planning now commences for workshops, competitions, outings etc. All ideas welcome.

Membership Fee – Due Now

The WCC Membership is due now and you must be paid up by the 30th December 2016 to be eligible to enter the first monthly competition of 2017. We haven’t raised our membership fees in many years and this year is no exception with general membership only $70 for the year. That is just about 20 cents a day for what is a very full year of competitions, workshops, talks, outings, specialist groups, trips away and much much more, where else would you get value for money like this. Details and how to pay your membership are in the flyer below, please don’t forget to put your member number in the transaction or your renewal might be delayed.

Annual General Meeting – 18th October 2016

The club will hold its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 18th October 2016 at 7.30pm in the Craft Room at Mt Waverley Community Centre. It is important that as many members attend as possible so we’ve spiced things up by having a Buy, Swap and Sell session to be held directly after the AGM.

If you want to have a say in running the club or you have points that you wish to bring up regardless of what they are from things we are doing right or wrong all the way to places to visit in 2017 or competition themes etc. then, you need to attend the AGM.

Please remember that the club is only as successful as it is because of the tireless work that the committee and the members carry out behind the scenes, if you think that you can help then why not volunteer? You don’t have to commit to being on the committee, there are plenty of other things that need to be done from buying coffee, tea and biscuits for the competition night right through to running mentoring sessions. Of course there is no requirement to help out but if you want a say in how the club runs then this is your opportunity.

Please bring along any photography related equipment that you wish to give away, swap or sell to make this a successful evening because lets face it, after the AGM we will need something to bring us back to reality 🙂
