Set subject definition: Create an image in which most of the elements of the composition are of the same, or similar, colour. The primary challenge is in seeing, composing, and capturing such a composition. Compositions involving objects or shapes that are black, white or a shade of grey are allowed (these are considered as colours for this competition). Image processing is allowed, provided it does not involve compositing, introducing textures, changing colours, or converting images to monochrome.

Set subject definition: A panoramic image has a wide format – its ratio width:height must be at least 2:1. This can be achieved by stitching images, or cropping an image. Landscape images celebrate the beauty of the natural environment, showcasing the spaces and scenery of the natural world. Images may include animals, people or manmade elements, provided the primary emphasis is on natural scenery. The image must look natural although elements can be composited to add to the story.

Set subject definition: Single, straight-out-of-camera image of any genre or subject with no post- production off-camera (including cropping, straightening, editing). Only converting to JPG and resizing to competition dimensions are permitted to be done off-camera. This is an opportunity to celebrate and recognise camera craft as well as novel in-camera techniques such as black & white, art filters, multi-exposure or focus stack, but only if your camera exports it as a single image file. Eg. You cannot do a focus stack which is 3 images and combine them later in editing software before submitting.
