In conjunction with the City of Monash’s NAIDOC week celebrations our exhibition of photographs from Valley Reserve will be open this week in the Track Gallery.
The photographs are inspired by Aboriginal knowledge, culture and the unique flora and fauna found in Valley Reserve, Mount Waverley. We engaged with Aboriginal Elders and artists in the lead up to this year’s NAIDOC Week celebrations, to listen and learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, culture and Country.
More information about the council’s other NAIDOC week activities can be found at NAIDOC Week 2021.
Our honours group meeting this week is a good session for those considering starting on the honours path.

This Saturday we have a tour of Valley Reserve with Ian Hunter about the indigenous plants and medicinal properties found in the Reserve.
The Waverley Camera Club will take photographs that will go towards an art exhibition in the Track Gallery, Mount Waverley Community Centre during NAIDOC Week (5-12 July). There may be an opportunity to take photos on the tour but I anticipate members will want to come back and take more images at a later time.
Do join us on Tuesday night by zoom to hear from Robyn Campbell – inspirational speaker, judge and photographer.
The honours SIG will this week feature Ken Spence, an accomplished Photographer from Camberwell Camera Club.
Our workshop on Tuesday 16th March 2021 will be with Alistair Wilson of Avant Visual on the planning, capture and processing of landscape photography.
Please note that this is an in-person event at the Mount Waverley Community Centre, is is NOT being held over Zoom.
