WCC Annual Weekend Away to Beechworth – 22nd – 25th April 2016

In April 2016 we are heading to Beechworth for a long weekend of photography. It is possible that many of the newer members don’t know that we have an annual weekend away and 2016 is no different. We will be visiting Beechworth and this is the 2nd time that the club has visited this location. For those who may not know, Beechworth is a beautiful high country gold-mining town located between Wangaratta and Albury/Wodonga. Approximately 3 hours from Melbourne, Beechworth has many attractions and towns such as Myrtleford and Bright are all within range of this location. Beechworth also gives access to Mt Beauty and ultimately Mt Hotham. The area is also well known for its European trees and their beautiful autumn displays of colours.

There are a range of accommodation options, please see below for further details. There are 10 rooms reserved at the motel. To book a room at the motel you need to email me and deposit money into the club bank account to secure your room.

Please feel free to make your own arrangements and when you do please make sure you let me know so I can keep you informed about our plans and activities.

The motel rooms currently available are:
Executive Twin (7): One queen bed and one single bed $137 per night
Family Suite (3) One queen and two single beds $152 per night

Sunday Outing to Badger Weir – 11th October 2015

Octobers Sunday outing is looking like it will be a cracker as it’s being led by the world renowned photographer and all round good guy, Craig Francisco. Craig has a plethora of knowledge and his outing to Badger’s Creek will be a great opportunity to learn how to shoot moving water. Ever wondered how to get that smooth water effect then don’t miss this opportunity.

Please note that due to Grand Final Weekend, this outing is on the SECOND Sunday.

4-Club Interclub Competition – Wed 15th April 2015

Ever wondered what other photography clubs are like, ever wondered what other clubs take pictures of? If the answer is yes then why not come along to the 4-Club Competition. Previously bi-annual and now on an annual basis, WCC enters into the 4-Club competition along with three other local clubs, Berwick, Eastern Suburbs and Maroondah. In the past we’ve done really well in these competitions and there is no reason to suspect that we won’t do well here again. We have images from Jason, Lenore, Vicki, Andy, Richard, Cookie, Stuart, Marie, Hai, Anthony, Dianne and myself.

Why not come along and see how they fair and enjoy supper with other camera club members. It is a great insight into how other clubs run and what they shoot.
